CEA volunteer Veronica Monroy constructs a "lobster recruitment device," where young lobsters will seek shelter as the device floats on the surface with the blue filters beneath the water. The data on numbers of young will help assess the lobster population along the coast of the Mexican Carribean.

While lobster recruitment monitoring requires just a few hours once a month from a small boat, the sampling must be done 6-8 days after new moon every month.
